A fine Charles x ormolu figural clock, circa 1820s, rubbed marks to dial, silk suspension, key and pendulum, in the Empire style with the well cast figure of a Greek philosopher deep in thought as he scribes while leaning upon a plinth with eagle caryatids, an enamel dial with Roman numerals above a stepped architectural base with acanthus borders, the base with reeded scrolls, rosettes and whorl feet, height 48 cm, width 40 cm, depth 15 cm
