A Japanese lacquer table in the Negoro style, 20th century, of low set form and circular shape with four short scrolled legs, diameter 96 cm, 33 cm high. Provenance: The collection of a Curator & Collector, New South Wales. Other Notes: Negoro Ware was originally named for the temple and monks who created and used utilitarian implements. Constant use would slowly bring out the black base colour underneath natural vermillion pigments
