A 19th century Kashmiri silver kashkul, distinctive vessel form showing Indo-Iranian influence to the fine embossed all-over leaf and floral scrolls, tapered pierced and engraved top border, the top rims terminating in stylised snake's heads of prow form. Length 17.5 cm. Note: kashkuls were the begging bowls carried by travelling ascetic mendicants or dervishes.
