A fine Georgian sterling silver swing handled basket, 1819 Sheffield, with maker's marks for James Kirkby, Waterhouse & Co, a heavy gauge rectangular boat shaped basket with gadroon edges and acanthus embellished corners, the rims with a continuous mihrab styled border enclosing embossed and chased acanthus and flowers upon a textured ground, applied leaf motifs to the crested swollen handle, a rectangular waisted base; crisp hallmarks. Silver weight 901gr height 9.5 cm. Length 30.5 cm. Width 24.5 cm
