A Chinese brown lacquer and mother-of-pearl brush, late Ming-early Qing Dynasty, 17th century, the handle and cover finely inlaid with a descending continuous landscape, with two figures seated below a pair of cranes in a willow and deer below stylised clouds, (all symbols of longevity), 23 cm long. Reference: see another example in Christies NY, 19/3/2008, lot 327, with a different pattern. Provenance: Acquired in Kyoto, Japan
