*** A Very Rare Complete Boer War NZ Rough Riders Offering, comprising: South Africa medal with five Clasps (630 Joseph Cooke Nzmr) 3rd Contingent, tan service tunic, trousers and side cap. Manufactured by J. Ballantyne & Co., Christchurch. Also two leather bandoliers (personally made) and water bottle with cloth cover and framed photo of Cooke in the uniform ***

Brass recessed handles to top and reversible brass plate inset into door. (One side inscribed 'The General Head Quarters', the other 'The Governor/ Auckland'. The box belong to Lieutenant General George Dean Pitt and probably dates c.1859.… ***
