Scottish basket hilt sword of late 18th, early 19th century date. Approx 105 cm overall length with approx 85 cm single edged blade. Wire bound fish skin grip, steel basket guard (See 'Scottish Swords and Dirks' by J Wallace [plate 48] ) for a similar guard. The straight blade with short double fuller at the ricasso and a further central fuller engraved 'Solingen'
