A very fine late 17th century hunting hanger of the type favoured by British naval officers of the time. Slightly curved fullered blade faintly etched with foliage etc, brass mounted stag horn grip, embossed shell guard. Together with book 'The Admiral Benbow, The Life and Times of a Naval Legend' which includes a portrait of Admiral Benbow holding a near identical hanger (Page 253)
