The J. T. Sleep gold ring. A gold gents ring cast from pure gold (tests 22ct+) with a primitive unofficial coat of arms. Stamped internally 'G + S.Co' for Gerrard Sleep (in business approx 1856/59) and inscribed internally 'A McL to McK 1859'. This is possibly the earliest piece of dateable goldfields jewellery from the Ballarat area. With an associated Victorian-era ring display
