Scarce U.S Model 1852 Naval officer's sword: 28 ¾ inches slightly curved blade with very light staining and clear etchings of floral tributes, a circle of stars, fouled anchor and shield, obverse side with floral tributes, acorns folded anchor and ribbon etched U.S.N.Ricasso marked Ames Mfg. Co. Chicopee Mass, 30% gilt remains to brass hilt with U.S.N and acorn motif’ knuckle bow in the form of a dolphin: eagle pommel surrounded with 13 stars, very good white fish skin grips bound with woven brass wire complete with bullion sword knot and correct gilt brass mounted leather scabbard with dolphin drag
