Important Australian cedar sofa, c1840. Provenance: The James Henty Estate, High Street Launceston. James Henty died 12th January 1882. The sofa passed down to a great granddaughter and was sold along with other effects from the Henty Estate in 1995. A biography of the family entitled 'The Henty's an Australian Colonial Tapestry by Marnie Bassett has been published.
