Description: The Jersey Worn by All Blacks Captn. Ron Elvidge when he scored the winning and only try in the 3rd test against the Lions in 1950 while injured. This famous jersey (complete with Athletic Park mud) was given to the team masseur, George Burton in recognition and thanks for being patched up, allowing Ron to return to the field after severely injuring his collar bone and breaking his ribs in the first half. The second five-eighth became the hero of the day when he scored the winning try in the 6-3 series clinching victory. It was his last test as he was too injured to play the fourth test. The jersey has a small amount of blood on the collar from a head injury also sustained during the game. Ron Elvidge is regarded as one of new Zealand's legendary sporting leaders.
