Description:		Kauri Timber Company Folding Chair c.1910 This simple folding kauri chair was almost certainly made by the Kauri Timber Company in Auckland in the latter part of the 19th C or early part of the 20th C. By this time the company was well established and supplying a large variety of pre-made and ready to assemble furniture together with building supplies. The turnings on this chair are similar to those used on a variety of other furniture items including beds, cots and towel 'airers'. Ref: Furniture of the New Zealand Colonial Era, p 56
