An ivory netsuke, 18th century, signed Hidemasa, Kyoto school, a very fine and rare netsuke by a famous carver Hidemasa, the baby shishi is hatching from an egg, the sumi (ink) stained hair work is well rendered with powerful curls. Inlaid black coral eyes, ex Gilbertson collection. Length 4.5 cm
