Dial displays a 'Strike/Silent' selector, date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial with the original brass sheathed weights, pendulum and winders. *** Richmond Henty's 18CT Gold Hunters Case Watch (1856) inscribed, Richmond Henty, the gift of his Uncle Edward 1856. Stephen Henty's son Richmond Henty was given this watch by his Uncle Edward, Victoria's first permanent settler (from l834 in Portland area). Stephen George Henty was a son of Thomas Henty. This watch passed by descent to Ernest George Henty, grandson to Richmond Henty, and then to Ernest George Henty's step daughter. In beautiful condition and working.… ***
