*** A large 'Longquan' celadon Barbed rim dish, Ming Dynasty, 15th century, robustly potted with petal moulded shallow rounded sides, carved with a central medallion enclosing four clumps of lotus in a pond, encircled with panels enclosing chrysanthemum sprays, repeated on the underside, and a foliate scroll around the interior rim, covered overall with a thick sea-green glaze, the base with a ring burnt orange in the firing 47. ***
*** A cast iron figure of guanyin, late Ming Dynasty, seated in lalitasana on the back of a recumbent Buddhist lion, with hands in dhyana mudra, wearing long flowing robes and beaded necklace, the hair drawn into a high chignon, the reverse with four character inscription, 107 cm ***
*** A Polished Black Basalt Stele With Vishnu, Pala-Sena Period, Mid 11th/12th Century, the four armed figure standing on a lotus pedestal in the centre, flanked by his two consorts, both standing on a lotus, Lakshmi holding a fly whisk ***
*** A black lacquer Qin, probably Ming Dynasty, the gently arched body lacquered in black, the upper surface inlaid with mother of pearl studs, the underside carved with inscriptions 1250 cm long. Other Notes: the qin enjoyed a peak of appreciation among the emperors of the Ming Dynasty. It was considered by the literati to be an inseperable part of high culture, and the scholar Tu long (1542-1605) stated that every scholar's Studio must have one hanging on the wall. ***

*** A flambe-glazed bottle vase, Qing Dynasty, 18th century, the globular body springing from a straight foot, encircled with raised horizontal bands around the widest part, the shoulders and the tall slender neck with galleried mouth, covered with a rich reddish purple glaze streaked with deep lavender blue, draining from the buff rim, wood stand (2) 38 cm. Other Notes: the form of this vase from the Song Dynasty was first revived by the Yongzheng emperor and covered with Song inspired glazes. ***
