*** A Nicole Freres Interchangeable Cylinder Music Box On 'Writing' Desk c1870. Nicole Freres, serial number 46627, made in Geneva. The music box is designed to sit on top of a superbly constructed base unit; the entire piece, when assembled, appearing to be a single unit. Accompanied by the original six large music cylinders [41 cm x 9 cm] playing, in total, 28 overtures and airs each in a mandolin arrangement. The combs are on a ribbed brass plate each with 159 teeth.… ***
*** Antique Writing Slope c1855, English Walnut with cross banding, brass inlay (front and back), original lock and two secret drawers, green & gold gilt leather writing surface. Fine condition ***
*** Antique Australian Ceder Writing Slope c1865, including original, new brown and gold gilt writing surface ***
*** Australian Furniture Makers Timber Sample Kit c1875, including original dove tailed multi wood box, high grade samples include Red Gum (Victoria), Kauri Gum (New Zealand), Fiddle-Back Blackwood (Beech Forest,Vic.), Olive (Beech Forest, Vic.), Sheoak (Western Australia), and many others.
