*** A fine pair of Australian cedar hall chairs Circa 1835, after a design by George Smith, the back with S-scrolled acanthus leaf decoration with empty cartouche and a tablet top with a central flowerhead, above a panel seat, moulded rails and raised on turned tapering legs with centurion skirt motif (2). Provenance: Believed to have been part of the furnishings of Government House, Hobart ***
