Andor Meszaros (1900-1972) A pair of important bronze plaques of merino sheep, Australian initialled AM, 41 cm x 40.5 cm. Provenance: Australian Wool Corporation, wool board House, Parkville. Andor Meszaros was president of the Victorian Sculptors Society 1955-6 and 1962. His most famous commission was for a silver altarpiece at canterbury Cathedral England and he executed many large commissions in Australia where he was best known as a sculptor of medallions.
